Fr. Alois Gatterer, S.J.

Fr. Alois Gatterer S.J. (1886-1953) served at the Vatican Observatory from 1933 until his death in 1953. He set up and organized the astrophysical laboratory at Castel Gandolfo, and undertook the production of the spectral atlases for which the Vatican Observatory became famous.
