Menorah (2020)
A menorah showing the phases of the moon (right to left) during Chanukah. Jewish holidays follow the Jewish calendar, which is lunisolar; thus Chanukah, which is eight days long, has a New Moon in the middle of the holiday every year.
The inscription on the base reads, “Presented to the Pope’s astronomer, Br. Guy Consolmagno, 5782 2022.”
