Spectrochimical Acta

In 1939, Gatterer and his colleagues founded a journal, Spectrochimical Acta, to report their work in this new field. It published two volumes before 1944, when the war forced a halt. Immediately after the war, Gatterer took over all the editing duties for the third volume, which was printed by the Vatican Press. After 1949, normal publication resumed with Gatterer serving on the editorial board until his death in 1953. The journal is now published in two sections, and remains a premier outlet for scientific papers in the field of spectroscopy.
